Privacy Policy
Effective date: [effective date not set]
The short version
- Doc Tally runs entirely in your web browser. There is no nomtools server that receives your files or what you type.
- We do not save your documents or inputs. When you close the page, they are gone.
- We measure visits with Plausible Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify you.
- Payments are handled by Polar. We only see your license key, never your card details.
Files and text you enter
Everything you type or select in Doc Tally is processed by code running in your browser. Files you choose or drop onto the page are read in your browser’s memory. They are not uploaded, and we do not keep a copy. We do not store your documents or inputs on any server, and the tool does not save them in your browser either.
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics to count visits and a few actions (for example, that a result was produced or that the Buy button was clicked). Plausible does not use cookies and does not collect personal data that identifies you. It records the page address, referrer, browser, operating system, device type, and country. We remove the part of the address after the “#” and other non-campaign parameters before sending, so share-link content and checkout references are never sent. The content of your files and inputs is never sent.
Payments
Purchases are processed by Polar (polar.sh), which acts as the merchant of record. Polar collects your email address and payment details and handles receipts, taxes, refunds, and the customer portal. J2 Gon does not receive your card details. To unlock the full version, the tool sends your license key to Polar’s license check service to confirm that it is valid. See Polar’s privacy policy for how Polar handles your data.
What is stored in your browser
- Your license key and the result of the last check, saved in your browser’s local storage under “nomtools:U06:license”, so you do not have to enter the key again.
- Nothing else. You can remove the key with “Remove key from this browser”, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.
Children
Doc Tally is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
